Welcome BACK!
We are really excited to have you all back. Let´s start with the good news. During the summer, our sub 10, sub 12, sub 14 and sub 17 boys played in the Rio Abajo Basketball Tournament. Our sub 10 boys placed third and our sub 12 boys won their category! We have also added Enrique Grenal to our basketball coaching staff.
AIP is proud to announce that our sports facilities have once again been upgraded. Thanks to their hard work, we will soon inaugurate an artificial turf soccer field. The dimensions of the field are the minimum requirements of FIFA. In addition, two separate small practice fields will be added as well as bleachers and lights. This field will also serve as a practice facilities for our football teams. I am sure our fighting owls will benefit from this addition. Remember though, WE MUST TAKE CARE OF THE FIELD.
ADECOP has changed their schedule. The decision was made to split the sport season in order to have better use of schools facilities as well as the use of coach and their time. Starting April through June, sub 12 and sub 14 boys and girls will play their basketball season while sub 10, sub 16 and sub 18 boys and girls will play their soccer season. August through October, Sub 12 and sub 14 boys and girls will play their soccer season while sub 10, sub 16 and sub 18 boys and girls will play their basketball season.
Our sub 17 boys and girls will be participating in CODICADER Basketball. The regional tournament will be held during the month of May. The girls will be participating for the first time this year. They proved last year that they are ready for the next level. The winner of the national CODICADER tournament will go on to represent panama in the Central American CODICADER Games.
Given that we have now switched to trimesters, our after school programs will now be lasting between 12 and 14 weeks. The cost of each sport as gone up to $150. We have also added a Volleyball class for students (3rd grade on). Students from Pre-kinder thru 4th grade have the option of signing up for basketball, soccer, and track and field. Due to the fact that construction will still be going on once school starts, our after school activities won’t start until March 12th.
