Please read – Policy for Technology in the classroom

In order to use a technological device in the classroom, both students and parents must review and agree to the following guidelines:

  1. Each student is responsible for bringing their own device to class. Devices must be clearly identified with the student’s name.  Students are responsible for the safekeeping of their device and must store it properly and securely while not in use. SCHOOL WILL NOT MAKE ITSELF RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED DEVICES.
  2. Students will use their device in approved classes only. Use of the device in classes other than the approved ones will result in a penalty for students.  Devices may not be shared between students unless allowed by the teacher.
  3. Students must charge their device at home and come prepared to class with full battery power. Battery charging in the classroom will not be permitted.
  4. Students must download the assigned material onto their device at home; downloading material in class will not be permitted.
  5. Students must print any required material at home; printing at school in the office or computer room will not be permitted.
  6. Students will use their device in class for schoolwork only. Students may not browse the Internet, access email, use chat rooms or play games during class.
  7. Students may not leave the classroom to seek help with their devices in the computer room. Device problems must be addressed at home and during the students’ own time.
  8. Students must follow all Acceptable Use Policy rules as outlined. Failure to follow these rules will be penalized in the following manner:
  • Loss of lunch period
  • Loss of points from classwork or homework grade
  • Detention
  • Suspension

I have read and agree with the Acceptable Use Policy for Technology in the Classroom. I understand that if I do not abide by it, I may lose some or all of my privileges and there might be other disciplinary actions.
